CEDARS CHURCH FAMILY MINISTRY
We believe it is our responsibility to equip families to hold the primary role of spiritual formation for children. Cedars’ goal is to partner with the Holy Spirit and families to provide a clear path for discipleship and support them to impart faith and lead their children in daily life.
OUR DISCIPLESHIP FOCUS AND HOW IT INFLUENCES SUNDAY:
We believe you are primary. Everything we do is centered around the goal to equip you to lead your family in spiritual formation. Cedars has chosen TRU by David C. Cook as our main tool for Sunday ministry for the children preschool - 3rd grade. The truth of gospel is central in the Big God Story and supports the parents as primary with encouragement to reliance on the Holy Spirit as children are discipled. The scripture focus and ideas for experiencing discipleship in the home are sent home the week before it is discussed in the Sunday ministry on Cedars campus. The 4th & 5th grade Cedars kids at 11am follow the adult sermon series one week behind (current sermon series: Equipping- what does it means to be a disciple). We want to give parents the opportunity to hear from the Holy Spirit in the scriptures first and have time to introduce the spiritual discussions to the kids before they hear it from us, This allows parents the blessings of cultivating that relationship, and supports them as primary in the spiritual formation of their children. The Bold Believers (4th & 5th grades at 9:30am Sunday) are equipped to lead the way in encouraging the rest of Cedars Kids to serve and be apart of our local & global community, check out their Blog. Our ministry on and off our campus include activities for relationships, a Bible-focused message, opportunities for kids to respond to God in worship (beyond music & including service), fun, and small group discussion.
We recognize all families are unique and have different needs in every stage of discipleship. Our door is always open to you please feel free to contact us if you need support.
